How To Get Your Guests On The Dance Floor & Keep Them There!    by Terry Holdershaw

A common question that we get from our clients is "What do you do to get people up dancing?" Our philosophy is that good music played at the right time is the key to a successful event and a packed dance floor. Generally speaking, most people are tired of the cheesy games and embarrassing actions that DJ's have been known to do at weddings in order to get people involved and up on the dance floor. When you go to a club or out dancing, the DJ beat-mixes a seamless flow of good music that caters to the guests in order to keep them on the dance floor. We take the same approach at the majority of our events unless the client specifically asks for the cheesy and embarrassing interaction. When it comes to the music, we most definitely will play whatever music that you want to hear at your wedding or event, but we also highly recommend that you allow the DJ to use their experience and knowledge of which songs go over well and which order to play them in to an extent. In order to keep people in the dance floor and staying for the entire event or reception you have to play popular songs that are danceable and that people will recognize. Our DJ's still interact tastefully with your guests and talk on the microphone for any announcements, centerpiece games, kissing games, awards, special dances, etc.
